The Skull Of Summer builds its activity through various challenges, spread over five days.
Each participant’s aim is to acquires specific and targeted knowledge, applying it to a specific problem - the so called learn by doing techinque. During the lectures and te work activity each participant can share his opinions with others, in order to stimulate the networking factor and facilitate the free circulation of ideas.
Whats Skull Of Summer 2018 about?
The C porgramming language, beyond pointers, binary trees and lists: a journey in the core of C to find old anf forgotten methods, used by the old wise men. We will provide all the documentation to our participants. The entire event is available for all the students members of the athenaeum,
so it is not open to everyone.

Overview
GaSP (acronym for GAme Student Project) is a project that aims to build a videogame using the Unity3D game engine. The game wants to be a 2D platformer with a minimalistic art style and with time rewind mechanics.
The player will be able to rewind and slow down time for a limited period of time, and all the gameplay challenges will be based on that. The game is being developed in C# with the help of the Unity3D interface.
Skills
If you plan to work on this project you will most likely develop the following skills:
- Decent knowledge of the Unity3D game engine;
- Object oriented programming and C# knowledge;
- Base details of game design;
- Sprites, 2D graphics and animations;
- Sound design and implementation;
- Project management and teamwork;
Everyone is free to join and there are no special prerequisites. We’re willing to provide documentation and tutorials for core concepts and to explain how game development works. The only things you’ll need is the willing to learn, to work as a team and a decent C knowledge.

The IM - Instrumentation and Measurement Italy Chapter and the IEEE Student Branch of Brescia organize an IEEE Student Contest to be held during the 2018 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Industry 4.0 & IoT (MetroInd4.0&IoT), Brescia, Italy, April 16-18, 2018.
What is the aim of the contest?
During the workshop, several topics about metrology and opportunities in Industry 4.0 and IoT will be discussed, considering all the aspects that orbits around this competitive and growing world.
IEEE Student Members who are willing to share their works and projects are free to participate, by submitting a poster which will be shown during the workshop and rated by an Evaluation Committee. This Committee will choose the three best posters and award with the MetroInd4.0&IoT 2018 IEEE Student Best Poster Award, funded by the IEEE Italy Section:
- First Place: 250€
- Second Place: 150€
- Third Place: 100€
How to participate?
To participate to the contest, applicants should own a valid IEEE Student membership for 2018; the IEEE ID should be provided during the poster submission.

Overview
Very good results for the first participation in the IEEExtreme 2017 programming competition; 11th edition of the 24 hours competition to which took part more
than 8000 participants, for a total of 3350 teams.
Lorenzo Nodari, Michele Dusi, Claudio Cito, Francesco Cremascoli, Daniele Vezzoli,
Stefano Poma and Nicola Onofri are the 7 students who programmed for 24 hours in
a row, leading the University of Brescia to the podium!
How did we achieve this goal?
In February, IEEE Student Branch of Brescia has started a programming
course for the students of the first engineering year. The aim is to teach
the base of the object-oriented programming, the course led 21
participants of the âProgramma Arnaldoâ to acquire and/or improve their
own algorithmic knowledge, data structures and searching methods.
You can find more information about Programma Arnaldo tapping here.
Results
All the italian participating teams have got a result higher than the third
quartile, a result which confirms and attests the real power and
capability of the italian students, the italian universities and the quality of
the available courses.
In Italy, the University of Brescia achieved the third place among all
participating universities, trying for the first time in the history the
preparation of students, not graduated, of the first year for the worldwide
IEEE competition.
Given the results, we intend to propose the”Programma Arnaldo” also in
the following years.
